How is New Jerusalem (Heaven) like?

What would you do if you were awarded more than billion trillions dollar ($1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000) contract to prepare a place for people to live in for billion trillions of years? What if you were told that land is not a problem, you can use as much as much land as you like. You had all suppliers and manpower that you need. To make matters even interesting, you were told that the budget is just for capital spending, it doesn’t include maintenance and other running costs. How nice a place would you create if you had 2 000 years to finish the project? What kind of exciting entertainment would you prepare for people who will live there one day? How about housing, surely you will create the best mansions the world has ever seen, wouldn’t you?

That’s the contract Jesus Christ has at the moment. When He won the contract, He said: “I am going there to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2 NIV). Not only did He tell us that He’s going to prepare a place for us, but He told us that we are the inhabitants of the place: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3 NIV). Now think about it, Jesus has been busy with an unlimited funded project for the last 2000 years and He’s doing it all for you.

The question is why do people think Jesus will take 2000 years to create a place for them, only for it to be more boring that this world is? Isn’t it possible that your assumptions about this place are very wrong? If the same Jesus created this present world in 6 working days (excluding nights) and we think this world is superb, then why do we think He will take 2000 years only to create a boring place? Why can’t we believe that the coming place will be 624 000 (2000 x 6 days x 52 weeks) times better than the current world? Unlike me, Paul didn’t want to do the numbers so he just said: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Paul just wanted to say the coming world is thousands of times, if not millions, better than the current world.

The only entry requirement to this wonderful place Jesus has been preparing for you, is to accept His invitation. Just like you can’t attend a wedding without RSVP, you also can’t be an inhabitant of this place without RSVP. Make your reservation now!
