God’s love was shown at Calvary!

Atheists have over centuries disputed many accounts of the bible; from Jesus’ miraculous birth to His resurrection the list goes on and on. However there is one biblical account that not even militant atheists are able to comprehend. The bible says there was a Man who had the ability to free Himself and others from any situation, but He willingly agreed to be hanged on the cross alive so He can die in people’s place. An ancient Jewish prophet called Isaiah was also unable to comprehend this act, and he said: “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.” Why couldn’t this Man present His case to His accusers and avoid such a horrific death? One thing is for sure, He had a good defence to win His case, afterall all He did was preach from official Jewish scriptures. Surely that didn’t warrant death.

That Man was on a mission: to show people “how wide and long and high and deep is the love of God”. That selfless act that happened 2000 years ago is still difficult for people to comprehend; hence people all over the world are still celebrating it. This Man chose to die so He can show you God’s love, and here you are questioning God’s love for you. It is through that selfless act that happened 2000 years ago, that I can tell you with all confidence that God can change your life for the better. Because that Man didn’t defend Himself, I can now tell you that God can live in you. If He had rescued Himself back then, I would have never been able to tell you that you can find peace in the world that’s full of violence.

That Man died for me and you so we can have direct access to God.
