If He wasn’t merciful

Given the number of times I sin against God, I can’t imagine what we would do if He wasn’t merciful. If His mercy was equal to the mercy I show to my children, then He would have killed me long time ago. Every time I sin, I remember just how important it was for Jesus to die on the cross, not that I sin so I can abuse His grace. The bible asked a good question, it said “shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” (Romans 6:1). A Christian doesn’t jump into a swimming pool of sin, but it’s difficult not to slip into the same swimming pool. If I were saved according to my observance of the Law, then I would have never had any hope of salvation. But thank God “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).
